Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
ARX and Arx Studio are developed and operated by
Ironic Processes, based in Queensland,
Australia.
We take a privacy-first approach to developing our
applications. Our aim is to provide useful software
without unnecessarily collecting personal information
or monitoring how people use it.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is
handled when you use:
- ARX — our attention-training and
spatial audio application for iPhone and iPad. - Arx Studio — our audio scripting
and authoring application for macOS. - The ARX website —
https://arxtraining.com.au.
1. Our Approach to Privacy
ARX and Arx Studio are designed so that their principal
functions operate on your own device.
We do not use the applications to collect personal
information, monitor individual behaviour, create
user profiles or track people across other applications
or websites.
We do not include third-party advertising networks
or behavioural tracking technologies in our applications.
Information processed locally by an application is not
automatically collected by Ironic Processes. Certain
online functions, such as downloading audio content,
may involve the processing of limited technical
connection information, as explained below.
2. Privacy Within the ARX Application
ARX provides guided attention training, spatial audio
playback, hand-posture recognition and other scripted
audio experiences.
ARX does not require you to create an Ironic Processes
user account to use its standard functionality.
Information generated during normal use, including
application settings, audio playback state and
camera-based posture information, is processed
or stored locally on your device.
We do not receive or collect:
- Camera images or video recordings.
- Hand positions, movement information or
posture-recognition results. - Individual attention-training performance
information. - Health or biometric profiles.
- Personal behavioural profiles.
- Advertising identifiers or information used
for cross-app tracking.
ARX may connect to our website to retrieve information
about available audio content and to download scripts,
audio files or associated resources.
These requests may generate ordinary technical server
logs, as described in Section 6.
3. Camera Access and Hand-Posture Recognition
Certain ARX exercises use the device camera to recognise
hand positions and postures.
When these features are used:
- Camera images are processed locally on the device.
- Information derived from camera processing is used
to provide the relevant exercise functionality. - Camera images, video and hand-recognition information
are not transmitted to Ironic Processes or our servers. - We do not use camera information to identify
individuals or construct biometric profiles.
ARX requests camera permission through the operating
system.
You can disable camera access at any time through your
device’s privacy settings. Features requiring camera
access may not function when permission is disabled.
4. Privacy Within Arx Studio
Arx Studio is a macOS application for writing, editing,
validating, previewing and exporting immersive audio
scripts.
The application allows users to combine narration,
spatially positioned sounds, sound effects and layered
soundscapes into scripted audio experiences.
Scripts, audio files, application settings and other
working documents are normally processed and stored
locally on your Mac or in locations you select.
Ironic Processes does not automatically receive copies
of scripts you create, documents you edit, or audio
files you use within Arx Studio.
When you save or export a script, the resulting files
are stored at the destination you choose. You remain
responsible for deciding whether to share those files
with other people or services.
Arx Studio may access online resources, including
audio libraries or application-related resources.
Such connections may involve the processing of
technical information required to deliver those resources.
Where Arx Studio provides information intended for use
with external AI assistants or other software, choosing
to copy and share that information with an external
service is a separate action initiated by the user.
Information submitted to an external service is subject
to that service’s own privacy practices.
We do not use Arx Studio to monitor the content of
your scripts or analyse your creative work for
advertising or behavioural profiling.
5. Information Stored on Your Device
ARX and Arx Studio may store information locally to
support normal application functionality.
Depending on the application, this may include:
- Application preferences and settings.
- Downloaded audio content and scripts.
- Locally created or imported files.
- Playback settings and application state.
- Information required to restore application
functionality.
This information is not automatically transmitted to
Ironic Processes merely because it is stored or
processed by the application.
You can remove locally stored information using the
application’s available file-management functions
or your device’s file-management facilities.
Deleting an application may remove information stored
within its application container. Files deliberately
saved outside that container, or retained in device
backups or cloud storage, may need to be removed
separately.
6. Online Content and Downloads
ARX and Arx Studio may communicate with servers
operated by or on behalf of Ironic Processes to retrieve
scripts, audio files, application resources or
information about available content.
As with ordinary website requests, our hosting
infrastructure may process technical information
needed to complete these operations.
This may include:
- Your device’s IP address.
- The date and time of a request.
- The requested resource or file.
- Standard connection, browser or client information.
- Technical information relating to server errors
or security.
This information may be recorded in normal hosting
or security logs.
We use such information for purposes reasonably
connected with providing, maintaining and securing
our services.
We do not use content-download requests to construct
individual attention-training profiles or for
targeted advertising.
7. The ARX Website
The ARX website is available at
https://arxtraining.com.au.
Like most websites, it may process limited technical
information required to deliver pages, provide
downloads, maintain security and diagnose problems.
The website may use cookies or similar technologies
necessary for website functionality or administration.
We do not intentionally use advertising or cross-site
tracking cookies to follow visitors across unrelated
websites.
If you voluntarily provide information through the
website, such as by contacting us, that information
will be handled as described in the following section.
8. Information You Provide Directly to Us
You may choose to contact Ironic Processes through
email, our website or another communication channel.
In doing so, you may provide personal information
such as your name, email address, contact details
or information included in your message.
We use this information only for purposes reasonably
connected with the communication, including:
- Responding to enquiries.
- Providing technical support.
- Investigating reported problems.
- Handling privacy requests or complaints.
- Maintaining appropriate business records.
We do not sell this information or use it for unrelated
targeted advertising.
9. Third-Party Services
Our applications and website may interact with services
operated independently by other organisations.
These may include Apple, website-hosting providers,
email providers, cloud-storage services and services
you independently choose to use when exporting or
sharing files.
For example:
- Apple processes information relating
to App Store downloads, purchases, device services
and operating-system functionality. - Website-hosting providers may
process technical connection information. - Cloud-storage providers may process
files that you choose to save or synchronise through
their services. - External AI services may process
information that you deliberately submit to them.
These organisations operate under their own privacy
policies and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information to third-party
advertisers or data brokers.
10. Overseas Processing
The ordinary local processing of scripts, camera
information and application settings does not involve
disclosure of that information to overseas recipients
by Ironic Processes.
However, website hosting, email, cloud infrastructure
and other third-party services may process limited
information in Australia or overseas.
The countries involved depend on the providers and
services used.
Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to ensure
that personal information handled on our behalf is
protected appropriately.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
We do not maintain central copies of camera images,
hand-posture information or locally created Arx Studio
scripts as part of the applications’ ordinary operation.
Information stored locally on your device remains under
your control, subject to the operation of the relevant
device, application and backup services.
Technical server logs are retained according to the
operational and security requirements of our hosting
services.
If you contact us directly, we may retain your
correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary
to address your enquiry, provide support, maintain
appropriate business records or comply with legal
obligations.
You may contact us to request deletion of personal
information that we hold about you, subject to any
applicable legal requirements.
12. Access and Correction
You may contact Ironic Processes to request access
to personal information we hold about you or to request
that inaccurate information be corrected.
Because most information generated through ARX and
Arx Studio remains on your device, we will ordinarily
not hold copies of that locally processed information.
Where we do hold personal information, such as
correspondence you have sent us, we will consider
access, correction and deletion requests in accordance
with applicable law.
13. Children’s Privacy
ARX and Arx Studio do not knowingly collect personal
information from children through their ordinary
local application functionality.
The same on-device privacy protections apply regardless
of the user’s age.
If a parent or guardian believes that personal
information relating to a child has been provided
to us, they may contact us to request that the
information be reviewed or deleted, subject to
applicable legal requirements.
14. Security
We seek to protect privacy primarily by minimising
the collection and transmission of information.
We also take reasonable steps appropriate to the
information we hold to protect it against misuse,
interference, loss and unauthorised access,
modification or disclosure.
No electronic storage or communication system
can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should take appropriate precautions when
storing, exporting or sharing scripts and other
files that may contain private or sensitive information.
15. Your Privacy Rights and Complaints
If you have questions or concerns about how
Ironic Processes handles personal information,
you may contact us using the details provided below.
We will review privacy enquiries and complaints
and endeavour to respond within a reasonable period.
Where the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies,
you may also have the right to complain to the
Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
(OAIC), after giving us a reasonable opportunity
to address your concern.
Further information is available at:
https://www.oaic.gov.au.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our applications,
website, services or legal obligations change.
The current version will be published at:
https://arxtraining.com.au/privacy/
The date at the beginning of this policy will indicate
when it was last updated.
If we introduce functionality that materially changes
how personal information is collected, processed or
disclosed, we will update the policy accordingly.
